Peter – ‘a man made new’

Peter – ‘a man made new’

Passage: Matthew 4:18-25, John 21:1-19

Unfortunately the content of the sermon on this day was not possible due to technical issues, and notes of the sermon are unavailable.  However, as always, the selected passages from the bible are the basis for the sermon presented.

In John verses 18-19 Jesus speaks to Peter;

18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

The Cross of Saint Peter or Petrine Cross is an inverted cross from the fact Peter requested that his cross be upside down, as he felt unworthy of being crucified in the same manner as Jesus.
