Thy Kingdom Come – May 30th to June 9th 2019
During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who participates will deepen their friendship with Jesus, bring others to know Jesus or know him better, and come to know that every aspect of their life is the stuff of prayer.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more
people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to
the Church of England, has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
The Moderator of the Church of Scotland has encouraged every parish to participate this year in what has become an exciting event that crosses all denominational boundaries and unites the worldwide church. There is no doubt that we need to see God’s Kingdom grow in our nation, and this is an opportunity to rise above the political confusion we see and come together to pray.
Here in Kirkliston we plan to be part of this global prayer event, which focuses on the days between the Ascension of Jesus and Pentecost as follows:
Joint Celebration and Prayer evening with Queensferry Parish Church
on Sunday 9th June at 6.30pm
24hour Prayer in collaboration with Kirkliston Community Church
Friday 7-Saturday 8th June

The trypraying booklet is a 7-day prayer guide to help those who are not religious begin to discover that God is here and is listening! Get one to carry with you. Even better, ” use it and lose it” – pass it on to a friend or neighbour who might not be
in the habit of praying.
It’s interesting that people who say they don’t believe in God often admit to praying in a crisis…
Perhaps you can help direct these prayers?
Pick one up in church…. Or maybe two
KPC announced a new initiative in prayer back in January 2018, encouraging you to join us in a Prayer Walk through the village. The idea is to go out to quietly walk around the village in groups of 2 or 3 blessing the streets, homes and people as we go, for an hour or so. Then perhaps back to the Church centre for a coffee & share what the Holy Spirit said to you on the way!
If there is enough continued interest, we hope to carry on doing this on the last Wednesday of every month. This could be a new adventure with God! Contact John McPhee for more information.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
In earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory
Forever and ever
