Stewardship

Jesus reminds us ‘where your treasure is, there your heart will be also’.

Our attitude to giving shapes who we are as a community of faith.  Just as God generously gave himself to us through Christ, we are called to generously give of ourselves to continue this mission that Jesus proclaimed in his life.

Stewardship is a spiritual practice. When we give to support the life and work of the Church then we are, in a real way, declaring the good news of abundant life. We are testifying with our resources to a vision of the world that is not self-serving, but deeply concerned with the life and well being of others.

To see for yourself what we do in Kirkliston Parish Church, and to help you understand the aims and objectives of stewardship, you are warmly invited to attend “A Journey in the Life” Exhibition on either:

Funding Ministry
The worshipping community are required to take responsibility for the costs of ministry and mission in our parish and beyond. It may seem at times an impossible task, to meet these needs, but with God all things are possible.    Under the Genesis Project we reach young people and their families in this ever changing and growing community with the gospel, this includes the work of C.A.B. (Christian Action Bus) Little Coffee Stop, and importantly the employment of a full time Youth Worker.   We operate a vital food bank for the most vulnerable in our community and provide pastoral support through our Healing Rooms ministry, for a relatively small congregation we carry out a great deal of ministry.   How is it possible?   Our Church Centre is fully used by many groups in the community and is a hub for relationship building.   Be part of making the impossible possible and give according to the measure of faith you have been given.

“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.’ Luke 6:38
