Our World Mission Council helps the Church of Scotland understand itself as part of the world church. We involve church members in the twinning process to cultivate two-way partnerships between congregations in Scotland with congregations overseas.
These create learning and friendship and expand horizons for everyone involved.
Your role will be to provide ongoing support to presbyteries and congregations embarking on this journey. This will involve assisting in the initial stages of identifying an overseas congregation and supporting the resulting twinning. You’ll progress twinning requests and ensure that regular feedback is received. You will be expected to create networking opportunities at regional and local level and develop new resources.
You will be able to explain complex issues clearly, understand cultural differences, and enjoy working as part of a team, often to tight deadlines. Travel throughout Scotland is required.
